When I heard Tracie Grimwood was exhibiting at Wyreena Community Arts Centre, I was excited to see two rooms full! Tracie said she painted day and night for three months and what a wonderful achievement. The exhibition is a delight of cool blues and greens to fiery reds and oranges and thought provoking imagery. It is impossible to not stop and look at each piece and get drawn into the stories. Each painting tells a story of things that have happened and stories from Tracie's imagination. Her paintings are filled with myths and legends. There are beautifully stylised trees, towers, people, birds, hounds and of course horses which she loves. My favorite piece from the exhibition, We are Each Other, is a stunning fiery orange piece of 2 horses intertwined and merging into the landscape to become one with nature.
If you missed Tracie's Exhibition you can still enjoy her work while sipping on a cup of tea and nibbling on a delicious cake at the new The Artists Lounge at Wyreena.
